Jake Ryan: instilling hopeless expectations in teenage girls since 1984.
Oh man am I on that same train. Works as a carpenter in rural Pennsylvania now. I had (have) daydreams about buying a beautiful raw oak table from him someday. Jake Ryan for always.
I want to see an album cover that has the battle of the unicorn versus Pegasus. Pegasus obviously wins for three reasons: he can fly, he is Greek and unicorns don’t fucking exist.
— J. Kanakis, everyone. I love that this is our dinner conversation. I love it.

I would call myself an experienced traveler as I’ve been to vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Cuba, the Dominican, mexico, France, Spain, India, and The UK, but For some reason I just had to pop a Xanax to prevent a freak out about my Hungary and Czech republic trip. Wow… That was weird. Ok calming down… Time to take that energy and devote it to getting prepared.
…
This will be an amazing trip. Bam. We’re good now.
Meds aside, I’m talking about taking this trip sooner rather than later. Can’t wait to see your shots!

I so enjoy looking through photos and spreads from this era. I love how in-character J stayed. And as a longtime fan of a bright red lip, I’m surprised by how much I like the nude. The black turtleneck shots look straight out of a high class caper…gorgeous.
