- My uncle sent this photo around earlier in the day proclaiming that the family’s Christmas decorations were reclaiming their heritage.
- It’s 11pm on the first night of Hanukkah and I am eating leftover smoked salmon from the package with a side of pickled asparagus while warming up water for Manischewitz matzoh balls.
- It’s also Lisa’s birthday and in lieu of normal birthday greetings, we promised each other latkes, applesauce and kugel in January.
I have a very limited stake in being Jewish by most accounts and that stake expresses itself in odd ways. Feeling particularly happy to reap equally odd dividends tonight.
